North Carolina Birds Nesting on Your Home’s Porch

One of the wonderful additions to the quality of life here in the “Triangle” Area is our beautiful and plentiful bird population.  Whether you choose a rural setting, or a planned community with denser populations, you are sure to see many lovely varieties of native North Carolina birds.  When I sell a home for clients in the spring, we will often make arrangements with the buyers so the sellers can come back later and gather their bird houses distributed throughout the property after the babies have safely fledged and left their nest.  But not all bird nesting is pleasant to all home owners.  Some varieties of birds will nest on the ledges of porches and tops of columns, which many homeowners find unsightly.  There is a safe and simple way to discourage birds from nesting on your home’s structure.  Simply run a small line of Joy dish detergent around the area (for some reason Joy seems to work best).  This keeps the birds form building a nest where you don’t want one.

What about your own nest?  Whether you are moving to, within or out of the Triangle Area, I will provide you with expert guidance in this challenging market.  Now more than ever, experience matters!  Contact me, Connie Shuping, to ensure that your move is pleasant and beneficial to your interests rather than troublesome or difficult.  Learn about my services, NC real estate and search the entire area’s multiple list offerings from my site.  And thanks for visiting our blog!
